Bella's Lullaby

by Melissa Arel

The violins sing like rushing waters, waves upon waves of sweetness
A fog of warmth fills my mind as the notes sweep me away.
My heart beats in perfect unison to each note;
A deep and subtle drumming in my chest awakens me
To the sound of his fingers caressing the keys with such sincerity.
There is power and persuasion in his playing,
A faultless fervor of beauty and belonging permeates the air.
I breathe in deeply; the melody fills my lungs with tenderness
As his eyes bleed love.

Author's Note: So I'm pretty much infatuated with the last song on the Twilight movie soundtrack titled 'Bella's Lullaby' [hence the title of this poem]. I can listen to it over & over and never get sick of it. I wrote this poem while listening to it, so I thought I would give it the same name. I'm not 100% sure about how the poem ends, so I wouldn't mind your thoughts/suggestions on it. Here is the song in case you are curious about what the heck I am talking about :)

The poem is beautiful and fits the song. Don't change a thing.

The poem ends sublimely, Mel, and needs no further illumination or elucidation...just simply beautiful

It has a nice build and the ending is like the very last note before the final note. It makes me linger for more, which is a great quality especially for this poem.
