Merinnie

by Joy Sy

It was in summer
on a day like any other
you came into my life's view

A sweet young thing
laughing and teasing
kindling the spark I once knew

For a brief moment
an instance of time
I felt, hoped and loved...
again

My only regret
is to never have said
Though I do not believe you were blind

So thank you
for the laughter,
the blood rush
and the butterflies

Thank you for the pain
I had forgotten what it was to be alive

I wish you all the best
on the journey you must follow
I wish you ... love
encompassing
and none of its sorrow

Brilliantly written, and really evocative. The ratings tell me evocative is just "4", so I couln't understand how something evocative is less. So the comment :)
