Grandbabies

by Clara Mae Gregory

Our grandbabies' squeals
delight the ears with
sweet song of appeal.

On rose-petaled cheeks
echo soft whispers
of Aurora's noiseless breath.

With Love caressing our lips,
they kiss our antiquity,
kindling an ambrosia of memories,
internalizing aureate moments past.

How beautiful! Welcome to Pathetic! I, too, am a pathetic, hopelessly sentimental granny myself...

"With Love caressing our lips, they kiss our antiquity," - such a sweet love. Welcome!

Yes, I agree with Kristina and so few of us really understand the life of our grandparents.

there is beauty beading up on each line of this ode love the line, they kiss antiquity. and I antique as they get, as yet not blessed with grandchildren to kiss but my daughter gave me a dog instead to love, albeit its kiss is not as tender as a grandchild's. not to mention the whiskers are an obstacle.

Ahhhh, this is so sweet! My first grandson just arrived in October, and their next is just beginning his journey inside his mama's belly. (They're kind of freaked out because it's so soon!!!) "Antiquity" did make me cringe, but only a little....LOL. "kiss our antiquity" was brilliant none-the-less!
