Daughter of Pegasus by Julie AdamsHe reaches out to my cheek like a racehorse he’s keen on,
then his touch glides down gently over my sides, my torso a warm curve of flesh
under his curious palm, his gaze drops low like a fading sunset
into the space where my long rolling hills meet
or kiss, that anti-apex where the light is tucked
like a pocket in the pink, wide-legged sky
where his hand hides, tickling me
with strong, eager fingers. He grabs my hair like a mane,
and mounts me, feeling my power throb between his legs.
Like a stern jockey he slaps love into my hip and thigh
as he rides and presses down into me, I arch
like a spur, he has me racing, kicking up dust,
hooves dance in the open air, I am a glistening walnut
purebred galloping under the bed of a thousand burning suns
and I will race you as far as you can take me
