A Pedestrian Musing

by Lacy D Phillips

I will fall in step with you, my love,
measure my gait against your own
and match you step for step.
No matter which of us possess
the advantage in length of limb,
we will arrive together.

I am no endurance runner, as you know.
Nor am I built for the sprint.
I prefer a purposeful stride,
a straight path,
and you at my side.

Or are you my destination?

I like the focus in this - it does not waver. It is full of quiet determination and devotion and I like the ending question.

I'm going to vote destination as well. Very nicely done.

Thought provoking...I think destinations are only the transitions to new paths...
