I Paint Your Portrait

by Wendy Sparling

My brush paints your mood
across canvass stretched tight,
blending soft mist colors
of you this night.

Warm shades of tenderness,
trust we shall always share
I highlight your strength,
with bold strokes of care.

A mixture of rich colors
divided shades of midnight blue
a background of honesty,
silhouette of love so true.

My name adorns your portrait,
with flourish in fine frame,
I paint this poem for you,
and to show my love you claim.

That's pretty nice. Heh. A fitting Valentine's tribute, I suppose.

This becomes picture perfect, written with much love - I enjoy the paint brush and how you use your colors.

You paint words like you paint colors! I found this one very endearing!

This is a portrait I could contemplate for hours and hours. You are an artist of the word, and the brush. Lovely!
