Baby, It's Cold Outside!

by Laurie Blum

Sharp razors painfully

  shave the clear blue sky.

     Brittle arctic wind of

   glacial breath

burns dry ice white,

     a raw caress.

Oh, tender skin.

Ah, Chicago will get you every time. I love the town but I couldn't drink enough to keep warm all winter there. Nice write lady very well done!

A perfect poem for today here given it was a blue sky sunny day but -30degrees celsius without the wind...I love the concision of your poem and how a few words convey the harshest of elements on tender skin. Thanks!

Oooh, I see that -10 spoke clearly to you today. Well done.

it is a fine thing for the bard to have skin which is tender rather than calloused, so as to receive all the fine gifts winter has up its sleeve albeit they are raw embraces. How else could we readers receive such fine gifts as this ode lest winter embrace us in the raw?
