There's no indication for "minus you" on a thermometer

by Anne Engelen

Footsteps crackling frozen snow
Cold trace of beauty
On nature's white canvas

Thoughts of you are warming me
While kissed by winter
Walking through memories

I enjoy the walking journey of this, brought to this moment. Crisp and satisfying.

Romantic, tender. Good flow, use of contrast effective.

I wonder did the title find you first, or the poem. It is beautiful, Anne ... the imagery, the sounds and the feel. I love the way you begin with speaking of footsteps in the frozen snow, and then warmth arises and in a breath envelopes one in love-memories... hugs*m.a

Amazing and gratifying that such a concise piece can invoke a greater than lifesize image of warmth and love.
