Beach

by George Hoerner

sitting in her chair
three inches in water
book in hand
it is her paradise

warm water washes
across her feet
every little wave a treat
a sip of ice water
keeps her cool
while light waves of wind
break across her skin

the tide is coming in
it is always moving
in out preparing
to change direction

lifelike
the days and nights
of work and play
waiting to pass
some other way
till next she finds
her way to the shore

I enjoyed this... love the changes that come with every wave, every day, every decision made...

I like the element of restlessness in this. It seems to be a specialty of yours. Well done, man.

...a lolling life of the wave, in/out, repeat good lazy, lovely pome that makes one go out into the moment...

near where i used to live is a long stretch of beach called the canaveral national seashore. there you could find your own little spot and be alone with the waves and the wind.

This is very enticing - the chair, the book, the cool waves. You have created a lovely peaceful experience.

George. you always imbue your poems with this incredible quality and power which is you, you the great observator on the hill always giving we who are at the base our fill of what can only be described as bountiful and beautiful and honest.
