Christmas Tree by Charles E MinshallWe brought down our Christmas tree
From the upper attic,
Put on the ornaments and lights
It looked nice, we were ecstatic.
But the star on top was leaning
Swear words were thought not spoken,
When fixing it I fell off the stepstool
Front window and tree both broken.
A lot of ornaments and lights
Ended up smashed,
I couldn't tell you
How many we trashed.
But we have the solution,
It won't happen anymore,
Not with the two foot tall tree
We just bought at the store. 12/06/2008 Author's Note: This is a what if poem...CharMin

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 12/07/08 at 02:57 AM Ha! Yes, it's not the size of the tree, but how big the heart. Thanks, CharMin. |

Posted by George Hoerner on 12/07/08 at 01:29 PM Really cute. We have succumbed to a two-foot artificial tree, which is covered after each with trash bag and put away for the next year. |
Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 12/07/08 at 03:25 PM Heh. Couldn't agree with you more. Really nicely done. |
Posted by Graeme Fielden on 12/08/08 at 05:02 AM haha, very practical solution, Charlie. Thanks for the giggle :) |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 12/09/08 at 01:45 AM A humorous look at the change of the trees! I did that (changed to a much smaller tree several years ago)! |
