What Where

by George Hoerner

start where -
understanding a word
a blank page
a touch -

see what
a line - a color - a tree

hearing what -
a note
a wind - a scream

for me this poem begins at curiosity and ends with the heart content simply to ask a question which for me is the real gem, the real curio, answers being a dime a gross.

In a few words you pose questions asked by a poet, a person, all questions without enduring answers. I read recently that poets should never ask a question to which they know the answer. You answer with a question... with nary a ? Well done.
