BASS DU JOUR by Charles E MinshallI've fished for bass
With every bait or lure,
With visions in my mind
Of bass du jour.
But the only fish to reach
My time worn hook,
Was a picture of a bass
From an outdoor book.
I placed it there
To see how it would feel,
To wind in a fish
With my rusty old reel.
It-uh-worked-uh-worked all right,
Thee-ah-uh-reel worked fine.
But the-bass-uh-h bass tasted terrible,
It -uh-needed mo-o-re -uh-wi-i-ine. 11/13/2008 Posted on 11/13/2008 Copyright © 2025 Charles E Minshall

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 11/14/08 at 08:34 PM MMMMMmmmm,Filet de Papier! Okay, have to say it: give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you get rid of him on weekends.
Seems usually for no apparent reason, either! The best sport is a good sport.....you the tops CharMin! |
Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/15/08 at 05:45 AM Gees! I wish I'd thunk of that. How many times I have thrown that time worn hook to yield only its wetness. Next time I go out I will definately stop by the barber shot to get and old Outdoor Life. I do miss fishing. Haven't been since summer before last when we had to give up our travel trailer due to an auto accident that totaled our towing vehicle. I must get back again next spring. Fun read, Chaz. |
