Frugal Poet by Kristina WoodhillSo, to the frugal poet
a miser with his words;
he writes them with such
deft diverse direction
shares them for a day,
then, never looking back
he quickly, oh, so fick-le-y
whisks them right away
a tempting quick hand squeeze
like a falling draped strip tease
the curtain barely has a chance
to draw back for our longing glance
the reader's page lost on the breeze 11/09/2008 Posted on 11/10/2008 Copyright © 2025 Kristina Woodhill

Posted by Rhiannon Jones on 11/10/08 at 01:09 PM Nice. If we don't read here regularly, some of the real gems are gone before we've seen 'em!
Posted by George Hoerner on 11/10/08 at 02:15 PM I've seen things pop on as POTD that I hadn't seen before and have been pleasanly surprised. This is really a nice write also m'lady. You've choosed you words well and left them here to please us.

Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 11/11/08 at 07:19 PM But you are neither frugal with words nor poems, fortunately! Perhaps it is the frugal reader who misses so much!
Posted by Glenn Currier on 11/13/08 at 05:49 PM I love the way you describe the experience of the reader and characterize the poet and the process of writing. Especially evocative and helpful to me are the images of falling fabric. Super poem, Kristina.
Posted by Bruce W Niedt on 11/14/08 at 05:25 PM Nice rendering of how ephemeral art, including poetry, can be, and how some of us like to just offer glimpses into our souls, rather than a whole guided tour.... d:-)
