Ache

by Joe Cramer

The bones ache

while the body takes

its time

at renewal.

The mind blanks

as time slips

into infinity

and then beyond.

What's left

but some stress,

a few notions.

Not much devotion.

Can a mind ache? If so mine is with the many thoughts this piece has conjured...~JPP

I can relate to the bones aching and rejoice in the renewal - away from devotion.

A wonderful ode, you've woven here, Joe. I look at these aches, even in my age, whether they be in my bones, muscles, sinews, heart or soul, as growing pains.
