Floaters

by Chris Sorrenti

like her ophthalmologist eye drops
it stings me mildly
that she didn’t have a solution to my riddles
didn’t know which way to turn her own retinas
the doctor suddenly become impatient
to a patient's insecurity

in the focus of an eye
at I
who only sought enlightenment
to the true nature and consequence
of
curly threads  chunky shadows
that continue to bob
up and forth
back and down
within my own eyes

My floaters are an aura to an oncoming migraine, easily controlled by siezure medicine at this time it seems so I do understand your question and I am sorry your opthamologist was confused by the phenom. smh

Right! Some symbolism here beyond the floaters in the retinas. My ophthamologist said the floaters are caused by the movement of a gel like substance which was there before birth.

I love the way you bring those common frustrations to us in this piece. Nice work -bf

Brilliant title and metaphor for the awarenessless and carelessness of another. I have known this kind of sadness and hurt. It stings indeed.
