Across the Atlantic

by Anastasia Shows

I took a plane
across the Atlantic
it only sat one
no room for you

and i sailed
over the waves
and i began
to hallucinate
of shorelines
that
weren't there...

and i thought
of
conversations
we had.
and i laughed
at little jokes
we had.
and i smiled
at the thought of
you face...

you see
i learned to fly..
but i never learned
to crash.

...anastasia, well, just double over your kness, after putting the tray up, then oh...you know the drill, but i love your metaphor of language of love...i'm so afraid of crashing[after nearly 40yrs. being coddled by mebride Pat]...your lovely write is longing from the younger but wise perspective, i just see it at a later stage, wonderful write...charlie
