Posted by Anne Engelen on 05/01/08 at 05:31 AM And here I thought this was going to be about a different kind of gas, lol. You got me :)
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 05/01/08 at 02:47 PM I gassed up yesterday - over $40 for a tank. The gal ahead of me - over $40. It's cheaper for me to fly round trip to Portland than to drive right now.
Posted by Keith McFarlane on 05/01/08 at 04:00 PM No kidding man -- I've started biking to the grocery store with wife and kids in tow, backpacks on us all!
Posted by Elizabeth Jill on 05/01/08 at 05:35 PM I have begun horsing around, Charm!
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 05/02/08 at 02:22 AM I'm not complaining. I've received a dividend two months running!! Taxes at the well (new oil) are extremely high in the states so that only in times like these is the one well pumping regularly! The other two shut down some years back because of the high taxes. Anyway, you've expressed the concern at the gas station clearly and emphatically! :0)
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 05/02/08 at 02:24 AM Lest anyone thinks I am getting rich--the dividend was $6.61 (tax taken out already). Many, many people own a share in those three wells through inheritance.
Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 05/02/08 at 09:00 PM Yes...who's taking who for a ride?? Thanks, Charlie.
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 05/03/08 at 02:41 PM Although I can't afford to own and operate a car, especially with these ridiculously high gas prices, my girlfriend and I rent one from time to time, usually when we want to get out of the city for a weekend. All around though I see its (high prices) effect on my family, friends and neighbours. We have a good public tranit system here in Ottawa, and more and more are choosing to take the bus at least during the work week. Thanks for the well worded reminder Charlie.
