woke up this lovely morning

by Maria Francesca

woke up this lovely morning
to a life that's free of worry
free of stress and pressure
without all the fuss and flurry.
woke up this lovely morning
with no need to fret or hurry
and I'm glad
so very glad
to be alive.

woke up this lovely morning
feeling healthy in my bones
every organ in fine fettle
every muscle firm and toned.
woke up this lovely morning
and I'm sure I could have flown
and I'm just glad
so very glad
to be alive.

woke up this lovely morning
to a world that's free of care
full of love and full of kindness,
led by statesmen wise and fair.
woke up this morning
to the purest water, cleanest air
and I am glad
so very glad
to be alive.

woke up this lovely morning
feeling eager and carefree
because although the world's not like this yet
I know that it can be!
put your troubles down,
roll up your sleeves
and work along with me -
because the work is why I'm glad,
I'm glad
I'm glad
so very glad
oh, yes, the work is why I'm glad
to be alive.

And what a lovely poem this is! For some odd reason, I kept reading the title, "I woke up lovely this morning" *giggles* and immediately thought about some of the grumps around my house that I wish would wake up as lovely as this! This lovely thing captures lighthearted and freespirited and is quite contagious. Lovely reading.

An inspiring way to start my day - just a lovely read - musical, upbeat, and contagious. Thanks you!

Excellent positive message; sounds Heavenly, as if written by someone with a fatal disease recalling what life was like when they were younger and in good health, but then of course meaning so much more by the end of the poem. Sadly I have a hard time believing we'll ever see such a world here on Earth. Nice to dream though. :o)

Oh how inspiring and fresh! A beautiful way to wake up, to learn to wake up, to be awake! Love this!

Love how positive and upbeat this is. If only everyone could feel this way!
