In The Night

by Kate Demeree

In the night
When darkness creeps,
Across the lawn,
I rise...
Within a softer light,
Reflections...
Twinkel,
Shimmer,
Shine
It seems as if
The hands of time
Have stilled...
Without the markings of man,
Only those set by God's hand
Past, present, and future
Blend, bend, merge
Thoughts
Flit and flutter
Tiny bits, pieces
Each claiming but a moment
I lift my face
As a breeze touches my cheeks,
Eyes glory..
For before me
Laid like a blanket
In the heavens
"He" has touched me
Blessed me,
Caressed me with the wind,
Lifted me...
No sense of gravity
Holding me down
Reaching out a hand,
I feel as if I
Could touch the stars,
As if ...
Should I move my feet,
I would be,
Walking in The Heavens

You really know what you're doing with that language and imagery. Fantastic.

What a beautiful moment you capture and lay out for us to breathe in. Your exhalation is my inspiration. Thanks for sharing it with me.

delighted to see you post again, Kate and making such a re entry with this beauty which is like the warm and cherished bread of yore whose crust is pure and whose body in the process of chewing sticks to and adorns the roof of your mouth, much like Michelangelo's brush stuck to and animated the Sistine Chapel.
