dreambook

by Mary Frances Spencer

the glass
windows into the next
dimension
open silent
silver hinged
or sliding
eyes
sleep on pillowed reality
mind flowing mercury
rising

dream assembles
a jagged
jigsaw puzzle

watercolor moments
vividly torn

another forgotten page

dreambook
closes on
the edge

of tomorrow

Author's Note: I've been having dreams lately where the emotion from the dream stays with me when I wake up...even if I don't know what it was about...MFS

I really like the imagery in this. It makes me want to roll up a doobie and go back 30 years and trip through your words... I like your style MFS!

The thing most dreams always lack is completion, waking often leaves us wanting more. Outside of nightmares it would be desirable to stay in the dream. I've experienced that too. I love the dream "threshold" you write of here. You've given it an intriguing voice. Delighted. Thanks.

A fairly accurate description recalling my own dream experiences. And like you I don't always remember details, but the emotion stays with me.

I like how you progress into and out of this dream state. You've given it mystery, color, motion, and you leave it just out of my reach. Nice.

once every so often i remember fragments of details through the day; as a child I had a recurring dream where I was tied up; pebbles would tumble down onto me, then rocks, and stones ever increasing in size. It's the only dream i vividly remember to this day.
