Affair of the Universe by Amber BIf and when the light hits
it will be dim
The fire will die down
The purpose, forgotten
Torn between two airs
those affected
and those for effect
Smiling stars twinkling
the moon overshadowing
Such history, that moon
and the stars I only count...
I know nothing of those stars
I know not their depth
nor their wants
yet I want...
I am a black hole
swallowing attention
craving appreciation
from whereever and whatever
constellation may pass 12/04/2007 Author's Note: Not my best, but my first in quite sometime. I should get at least an E for effort! :)

Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 12/04/07 at 08:48 PM I love the last most too, and also the simple gathering of forces of the initial fireside musings. And the title... yes... I love that too. |

Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 12/05/07 at 03:18 AM I'd give you much higher than an E. How about a Q? or a #? Point is, this was good stuff. |
Posted by Tony Whitaker on 12/06/07 at 07:57 PM Very interesting read. I believe the last two stanzas could be a poem on its own! |
Posted by Max Bouillet on 01/22/08 at 12:31 AM This is cosmic in scope. You assume universal proportions and take the vantage point of gods and poets. Great read. |
Posted by Philip F De Pinto on 11/10/14 at 02:55 PM if we are human that last stanza goes without saying and you don't have to be animate to swallow or crave such attention and appreciation as there is in the constellations to mete out and it goes without saying that this is a wonderful poem. |
