Beautiful and mysterious, I feel as if with closed eyes the moon can become a door into the dark amd you two enter. The beginning of this is subtle and unassuming and yet leads to "a thousand petals opening". Beautiful atmosphere and feeling.

Seeing with the heart and mind is often a clearer vision than with the eyes. Your words are beautiful and mystical. Yes, read Maria Massarella's poetry.

when the thousand petals open maria says they 'lotus' and of luna she sees the heart - and she can so relate to your poem each time she closes her eyes. Welcome to PPS, Mary Frances ...

the ending is magnificent - i've always loved the image of petals, like people, opening up in bloom. it's so sexual and suggestive but overall peaceful.

Very beautiful. There is a inner seeing here at play and the image of a thousand petals opening around the two of you creates a vision to the horizon. Quite fabulous.

"but i am only looking out the window" ... a truly poetic thought. Love the poem, MFS. Well done.

I've been away too long. What a gem MFS. I LOVE your work, and the amount of creativity you use. You inspire to do more than just write, but also present, an idea, moment or adventure with the the "look", like the "hook" in a song, of the words on the page!

all the words that come to mind to describe these words of yours, all want to say beautiful, beautiful, and who am I to argue, who agree wholeheartedly.
