port-a-potty woes by Kyle Anne Kishpumpkin weather
came late this year
and frost is starting
to glisten
on the rooftops
like diamond dust
in the moonlight.
trees are turning
to golds, reds,
oranges, purples
and finally to browns.
but when i look
out my front door
what do i see?
a giant man-made
anthill and a port-a-potty.
they came in october
with backhoes and such
ripping up the greenery
of everything they touch.
the port-a-potty
is a sensuous green
which tips over at times
sending a less than serene
smell of, well I wont say,
but it gets in the way
of enjoying my autumn
in a sangfroid way
and what of the anthill
that irks me no end
am i supposed to enjoy
the view it offends?
excuse me im headed out
to tip the port-a-potty
downhill from the wind
and then have some tea.
