The Craft

by Chris Sorrenti

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
- William Shakespeare, Macbeth

churning
whirling
winding
stirring
words
full phrases
surface
piece meal
a-muse
literate
witches
and
warlocks
can’t cast
their spells

ingredients
added
to suit
one’s taste
stirring

churning
excess
slowly
steamed away
simmer to
satisfaction
then dip

no two
mixtures
ever
the same

Rhyme and alliteration abound; I like it, very nicely done... Of course starting off with a quote from the greatest play never hurts either. ;)

Glad you've reposted it. Anything new or reposted from you is definitely a treat - Halloween or otherwise. Uh...maybe it needs just a pinch of garlic?

this makes me think of a really intelligent piece of harry potter-ism. fun and playful...something i admire. something i could never do so well. word selection is impeccable here. most excellent.
