Devil's Playground

by Kristina Woodhill

the demons of change
never ride rough shod
no, no
they take the subtle drip approach
catching me looking at the mud
on my feet
wondering where in hell
i left that stiff brush
as they gleefully add just enough
water to the clay
to keep me slipping away
from where i know
i think i left it

Hmmmmm Perhaps unintended but quite a statement in the cliche, "where in Hell". Satan never shows who or what he is when on the prowl for careless or neglectful victims!

Catch 22 squared! Fortunately, the equation provides this comical reaction with insufficient heat for you to end up bricking it :>
(so you're stuck with a change of pace)

Excellent and refreshingly different expression of the human condition. Adds to favourites.
