Rogue Poets

by Max Bouillet

Polite conversation
is nothing more

than parasitic words
infesting lip and tongue
until they can do
nothing more but lap against
polished teeth

(and dream of spitting
the bloody rhetoric
of rogue poets
that have forgotten
their mortality.)

I'd like to see more on this thought. Not that this felt incomplete or anything. It was brutal, good stuff.

Rogue poet's assessment of conversation I think! But a lovable rogue nontheless. Glad to see you back baiting us all!

A powerful statement for one way of looking at it Max. I like how this poem takes no prisoners.

I too just smiled and thought of the rhetoric of poets who find the voice to say what others dare not...you would not be one of those...shout on roque poet let the fulmenating begin...smh

The smile of which nightmares are made - are platitudes really as effective as floss? :)
