brilliant blue yesterdays by Melissa Arel
i drink warm cups
of brilliant blue yesterdays
as freshly cut grass speaks
to my daughters of life and magic.
the clouds slowly decay
from wild and carefree breezes
while corduroy flowers dance
for these blushing children.
i laugh at my dirt-caked son
as he explores the joy of
making soft starry mud pies.
the sky gives full voice
to the sailing birds above
while we watch the bellowing bugs
wake the breath from our angel tree.

Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 06/14/13 at 01:42 AM The colors weave through this on those "carefree beezes". I especially like "corduroy flowers" dancing. There is so much life and joy in this. Quite charming. Thank you. |
