Time wants nothing.

by Aaron Blair

Sometimes, the day doesn't flee
towards its end, instead
twists around to catch a glimpse of itself,
to admire the way its sand paper edges
work their rough magic on your skin.
It revels in your defeat,
your love for that which unmakes you.
We all want more time.
Time wants nothing to do with us.

Yes, time has always been my worst foe. Excellent piece Aaron ~ thanks for sharing.

Constantly moving forward, never turning a shoulder to see where it's been, only an eye on where it's going. Enjoyed this!

I won't argue with that. Excellent description.

Well thought out piece of writing Aaron. Chillingly much truth and wisdom here in how you have personfied "time."

Works better without all that cussing ;) And, anyway, it is a small and fantastic thought. I really rather like this.

"to admire the way its sand paper edges work their rough magic on your skin." Mama told me there would be days like this and you have captured it wonderfully with this description. I try to not let time defeat me, but defeat me it does...great ananlogy. smh

Ahhh the eternal beautiful b*tch who despises all who love her. What a personification! I love it.
