Helpless

by Don Matley

Oh my little sister
Who is huge in my heart
So sad to see you so sick in bed
I write but with nowhere to start

You are so special and so loved by me
I don't say that aloud enough in my life
You are strong and determined as the roots of a tree
I would leap to replace you to end your strife

I write these words trying to make them rhyme
But quite frankly I have no patience and you so little time.
I only want you to heal and not hurt without further adieu
I hope my words bring some little comfort by saying "I love you".

This is so touching. I am sure your sister will treasure it.

Heartfelt - I hope you let her read this.

A beautiful poem for a beautiful soul, who accomplished much, and sadly never got to accomplish the so much more she wanted to. Do you know if she had a literary executor?
