PERFECT! by Joan SerratelliShe lived in a perfect world
A world where everything was right
and nothing ever went wrong.
She had a perfect husband
who made a perfect living
and had two perfect children
who had very perfect manners
The only thiing in her life
that wasn't perfect
was her mother
so she simply threw her out
and got another
The moral of this story
is that everything
that isn't perfect
is disposable.....
even a loving mother 07/31/2007 Author's Note: Long sad story.....

| Posted by Michelle Angelini on 08/01/07 at 12:01 AM Joan, my heart is breaking for you. There were times I wanted my Mom not to be my Mom, but in the end, when I couldn't see her anymore, I was glad I forged a good relationship with her. Sometimes letting someone you love go is extremely painful, but then, we all go through many letting-goes in life, although it never gets any easier. Beautifully written. The vulnerability in sharing your pain makes me hold you in high regard.

| Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 08/01/07 at 01:46 AM This is so well written - almost fairy tale like - my only regret is it's true, and the part about being disposable really speaks to a lot of ills of our society right now. A timely poem as well as a personal one. |
