voice lessons

by Sandy M. Humphrey

speak to me with your own words
ideas and concepts formed
by the openness of mind
and experiences of your generation
do not let the drums
of the fathers before you
shout louder than your own voice

see with the eyes of your inner child
as you gaze into the crystal globe
of this moment then think
down the road and picture
what words will be formed
by those who hear you now
the influence is yours to be had

Hi Sandy. My, I like this very much! So, true, what we leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others. Delighted. Thanks.
