Liquid sunshine

by Patricia J Reed

His sweet smile is notable
Only because it is the antithesis
Of everyday grind

When the tiny corners
Of those little lips curl
He seems content

He beams with innocent love
And is absolute in his happiness

His genuine blue eyes
Pierce any troubled day

I hold my breath
(For fear my heart
would beat out of my chest)

This tender gaze is
Powerful
Refreshing
Loving

Liquid sunshine

Babies have that certain ability to make you feel all squishy inside. Very nice, Patricia. :)

Oh, how could I NOT read this poem with it's beautiful title. I do so like the thought of liquid sunshine and you described very well what it's like ... in my mind anyway. Beautiful write, Patricia.

I love this. Gives me that warm, floaty feeling.

"he beams with innocent love and is absolute in his happiness" - what a place to be!
