Quick Sand

by Kristina Woodhill

You may think
your sand is quick
but i assure you
i have walked
the desert daily
and the water
i have learned
to take within
that cools
my soul
will sustain me
and i know
as deeply
as you dig
this hole
i will not
sink

i have learned...(but am still trying to execute) that in life...you cannot let someone else run your show. i am struggling with that right now, but the beauty of it all is, is that when the strength comes to the surface, we realize that the quick sand isn't quick afterall. great write. great emotion played through nature.

Excellent expression of defiance and will to survive. I can sooo relate to this my onw way; from one superhero to another. :o)

There is an appealing sense of quiet valiance here...a very potent metaphor.

Admirable fortitude (for me this would describe obstinacy) - and we are quite capable of digging our own holes :)

More than a defensive posture proferred here! An interesting mix of metaphors actually.

This should make a few hairs bristle, an excellent "told you so".
