Menopause Isn't For Wussies

by Kyle Anne Kish

No, I won’t eat
the dark green
jellie bellies.

They remind
me of my
estrogen pills.

Don’t placate me
and ask me to forget
it. I don’t delight
myself in knowing
I’m post-menopausal.

Just remove
the dark greens,
ask no further
questions
and chuck them
NOW!

And ... there were no
dark green jellie bellies
harmed in the making
of this poem.

Certainly adds a vital touch of humour to an otherwise serious subject. Thank you God for letting me be a man...in this life. :o)

Oh yeah, this is totally hormonal! I remember those days and I'm glad they're long past. I think Lorissa said it for me - the night sweats, the day sweats, the jagged emotions - nope nothing wrong with me. hahaha! I love this!

Hi Kyle, Thanks for sharing. Great write. I'm trying to keep a postive outlook about this. I'm already going thru some of it. Not the things Lorissa mention. I'm hoping and praying to go thru it with flying colors. Yeah, Chris. Be glad you are a man and not a women.
