Illumination

by Joe Cramer

The light bulb

goes off

and I'm left

wondering

what the original

thought was at all.

Et al?

My mind wanders,

wonders what

is it all about...

Guess

I'll just have

to wait to find

out.

The opposite of "on"

is "no"

which seems to be my life's story.

Some illumination

Joe, I love your use of wordplay in this piece. You've used it to play out a deeply emotional poem, that reads beautifully.

I was looking for your "ode to zen" but couldn't find it in your library. However, I'm glad I stumbled into this poem. Congratulations on your POTD.

I really enjoyed this piece. I believe the Illumination is a constant tug at consciousness and sometimes turning "on" to "no" is saving some peace of mind. So, the turning to "no" is sometimes saving ourselves.

Philosophy and humor rolled into one poem. Excellent. And can I identify. Too many times I've started thinking of something only to forget what it is. Well, with me, it might be loss of brain cells.

Hmmm, and yet your life is not over - I suspect there will be many light bulbs blinking on and off yet for you. I like the poem and the illumination of it. Thank you.
