The Problem with Perfect

by Christel Crews

there is too much peace
leaving nothing to panic over
and so
i will create a problem
out of nothing
choosing to
flip out over the lack of
anxiety!

Author's Note: when it all clicks and falls into place, i can't believe there's nothing to be overly-dramatic about!!!

LOL! It's good to know that it's all good...when the homelife is secure and stable, you can focus that flip-out energy outside yourself and maybe find the faith to move some mountains (or molehills) :)

hehee. I've had those days myself. Often.

Yes, when all is going well, we wait for that other shoe to drop! Well done.

This is very funny--and insightful, revealing this tendancy toward insecurity in human nature-- "it can't be this good". Well sometimes it is--which is implied in the poem,"I will make a problem/out of nothing"... we ourselves tilt into "imperfection" in the midst of a blissful peacefulness... well we are not static beings, and so... this kind of realization is "perfect" and beautifully expressed.

Very funny, like us humans who seem to thrive on worry, worry, worry... such curious creatures. Great poem!

-chuckles- Isn't this the truth??!! I love the insight!

Hahaha my my Christel, you certainly hit that great ironic nail straight on the head with your perceptive and witty hammer of yours. This instantly reminded me of The Matrix, when the agent tells Morphius that at first, the matrix was developed as the perfect world, no wars, no pain etc...but that the human mind could not accept such a 'reality' and 'entire crops were lost' hahahah Well there is something definitely difinitive to be said of your reflection...we too are machines, and one cannot realize the meaning of 'peace' or 'beauty' or 'happiness' if he has never known 'war' or 'ugliness' or 'misery'. Well that's what I saw, we are a helplessly subjective bunch. Thanks Christel, this was really good :-)

I wanted to add that beauty is more beautiful amidst an ugly world...but in a perfectly beautiful world, the meaning of beauty changes, and ugly can mean beautiful.

well, you don't have to worry Christel,. We all are experts in creating problems, the cause of anxiety, in the process of resolving one. This is what we call evolution.

..........You can start worrying now

I can sooo relate to the first part of this, creating lots of unnecessary anxiety in the process. Glad I mellowed out! ;o)
