can you count

by George Hoerner

i see it now
the wind wrapping itself
around your body

the grass growing
a little taller
just to touch your feet

butterflies flying against
the nap of your neck
their wings leaving a kiss

the sun gazing
at you from afar
creating an unseen nude shadow

the trees bending
their branches
trying to brush your breasts

the ground quakes
hungry for you to
lie with it

while you swim
the water caressing
your every cell

can you count the times
nature has thirsted for you

I looove this! you have painted the picture so vividly i could actually see it...the object of a young man's desire standing outside on a sunny day preparing to take a swim..and when she dives in, oh my....sigh. Beautiful longing, beautiful writing...

George, this poem was so beautifully put together that it reads like a song being carried by the wind. Thank you for posting this wonderfully, vivid poem.

You know George, I have oft pondered the same and I have concluded that the number is infinite, the times that nature has thirsted to lay down with mankind so as to teach them that nature and they are one and the same. And this poem is lovely and great humility displays.

Ohh yes, I like this a lot, thank you. I'm going to add it to my favourites so I can read again easily.. unseen nude, bending branches, quaking hungry ground and water caressing.. favourite parts, I shall think of this next time I lie on the ground :)

I like the relationship with Nature that this expresses. Yes, nice work!
