a promise kept

by Christel Crews

"I will not run away"
he said to her
that cold and windy night

And as he left
he walked away taking
with him her heart

Author's Note: he had to leave, to drive the 3 hours home because the weekend was over... one day he won't have to leave... one day :)

Oh yes. Hope burns brilliantly here! Delighted!

Ah Christel, can I ever relate to this one. Only I was burned in the end and she could no longer stand the strain of our long-distance relationship and met another! This one truly makes me sad! I hope there will be a happier ending for you! I should never have let her go, too late!

One day....soon. :)

Love and the pain of separation are so often intrinsic parts of our life ... but not forever. I hope that day is soon.

As Shakespeare wrote: "parting is such sweet sorrow." Here's to "one day!"

Sweet promise - and this makes me feel that he is a good caretaker of your heart.
