Seasonal Spirits

by Maureen Glaude

Listen for your unseen guests
amid the season’s rustles.
Watch for their delight
as they join in the hustle-bustle,
for they’re celebrating too.

Sharers in the Mystery
your angels, ghosts and spirits
reunite with you
from year-to-year.

Earth’s time-race pace inhibits
but these kin know when to return
carrying peace to lend.

Welcome their shoulder pats and hugs,
honour the reminscent tugs,
bask in the sky-candled glow,
let your passion for them show,
for they’re your eternal beloveds -
as you know.

So very true! More spirits every year. I love the originality of this and I must welcome them instead of feeling melancholy. Thank you!

Indeed original. A spirit lifting fresh look at the Season.

A great way of looking at the season! It's nice to know that those who've crossed over...relatives...and friends like Juan, Ruby, etc. are there beside us, giving those shoulder pats and hugs; a truly positive and heart warming thought indeed. Merry Christmas!

This morning's sunrise wore the colours of a candled glow and in its' gold I heard your voice, felt your presence ... but then, I always have. This note you left on Seasonal Spirits has the fragrance of these spaces of mine that welcomes them all, the seen and the unseen ... They mingle well with the harmonious silences, the coloured conversations, and the songs that eversing the heart... and in their midst I find you. What beautiful gift you have granted those honoured to revel in your words! and in this light I would love to praise the muses, your openness to inspiration's embrace, and all of you that inked your pen. Thank you Maureen for your beautiful words ... thank you to the one who placed this poem here today ... perfect for the every-season, the spirit , and the breath of oneness it gives with the seen and the unseen, the here and the beyond ... *m.angelina

And now she is one of these with "reminiscent tugs" for her friends here. She bridges the threshold with words and spirit. How perfect.

A worthy timely choice for POTD Maureen. Congrats! We will indeed miss you this first Christmas without your physical presence, but take comfort in that you've joined those seasonal spirits you speak of and are still with us metaphysically.

This brought the tears. Your voice in my life, though brief, was/is so very cherished. Your physical presence glowed with love in life, but oh how brilliant, now, having shed the burden of the body. Love and love and love to you, Maureen, wherever your journey takes you.

I miss this gentle lady everyday and it's still hard to believe she's gone. I'm glad that her poems are still on this site and that she's been honored with POTD. Mo, you had quite an effect on all of us. I'm sure you're keeping God busy with your wonderful poetry.
