Me and You, What Went Wrong? by Alisa Jshere they come again
thoughts of you,
I know I shouldn't let them linger
but linger they do,
they come to caress and massage my memories
ah! those sweet memories,
and I'm back to that chapter
that chapter of me and you
those nights we spent until daybreak,
time stepped aside
angels bowed low,
and nothing else mattered ...
we tasted that promise of love
glimpsed at that horizon there looming
strolled to the edge of forever,
at long last waiting for us
it was real,
I felt it and knew you did, too ...
did you ever wonder why we only got so close and no closer?
ever wonder exactly what went wrong?
it was me, I admit
I ran like a rabbit
ran like a gazelle
right into those demons, my own
insecurity and fear jumped out from the shadows
straight from my childhood, those abandonment issues
taunting me with both barrels loaded,
with their mocking tone they screamed
nobody wants you! nobody cares, remember?
you'll never be good enough for love or anything real ...
and I've never felt anything more real in my life
than what we both shared,
me and you ...

nobody wants you! nobody cares, remember?" ... super impact with these words, Alisa. This is a poem I could relate to greatly. Thanks for writing this piece. peace and love ...
