reading between the lines

by Christel Crews

i live in a world
of absolutes
yes or no
black or white
grey is unknown, illegal even

then you come along
smearing the dividing
line leaving me in
a place of
blurred insecurity

Author's Note: just a few lines that have been circling my mind the past day or two.. i'm not sure if this is finished, is it lacking anything?

Nothing here to tell me you are not enjoying this bit of "grey" area! You are at least curious!?! Enjoy. Thanks.

Grey isn't bad...maybe a bit uncomfortable. Be cautious, but roll with it, Baby!

I think one of the great inner discoveries of life is that not much is really black and white. Letting other people in to shake up ones world is a good thing.

I love poems like this. Well Done. The thing I love the most about smearing black and white is that, no matter how much more white you put back in, it will remain grey forever. Excellent words. Thank you for sharing this poem with all of us. -Kat :)

Excellent fleshing out of opposites and that euphamism of grey area in-between. Adds to favourites. :o)
