To Ear by Wing by Kathleen WilsonShocked
that the muse
could point again to that same
unloosened place, where caution
was set free
bright paradisal arrows pointed
all along again
to where
sudden
burst of hummingbird
full throttle--
I'm startled
by whirr
to ear by wing
and look before too late
where white moths cluster
and float on flutter's wake
like me
in turquoise pool
stirred
eye by gleam
of spider's weave
gold and silver
strung
between the roof and tree
wall to bough
and from last light
to now.

Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 12/04/06 at 05:26 PM I like how the words of this poem dance down the page; kinda like the flight of a hummingbird! ;o) |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 11/29/07 at 05:10 PM They do that, don't they? - startle full throttle. We can't deny them, I think. ;) |
