A Bird

by Dave Fitzgerald

I saw a little birdie
Only inches tall.
I thought that it looked pretty
As it sat there on that wall.

It had shiny wings of gold,
A crest upon its head
And a fantail of the brightest blue
That popped up as it fed.

I watched it as it took flight
And I wondered from afar.
It flew in my direction
And granted luck upon my car!

lol.. maybe in some parts of the world, this would be considered a type of blessing, in other parts.. a sign of some type... and here in the U.S., more than likely met with disdain and a sense of irritation...lol.. what a funny ending.. aloha..;-)

You and Charlie Morgan have managed to give me two really good chuckled this morning. This is a real delight. In your "trying" folder... you succeeded with this one. I love birds but not their little white and black gifts upon my cars and other standing objects. Have you ever had one deposit on your head? I did once. I was wearing a hairpiece at the time - years ago - and it caused me considerable consternation. :-)

You give this bird a wonderfully innocent demeanor - quite delightful, followed by its fall from grace. Ha! Thanks, Dave.
