Personal Daylight Saving Plan

by Kristina Woodhill

Oh, no
you donÂ’t!

IÂ’ve saved
these daylight
hours
for months and
now you really
think
with one
small
stroke
of
two a.m.
youÂ’ll
pour them
down
time'Â’s
sink!

IÂ’ve got
news!

IÂ’ve penned
them in!
those days
IÂ’ve saved-
my scheduleÂ’s
full and
packed
of re-days
I plan to re-live,
of paths
IÂ’ve mapped
to track

IÂ’ve got
A whoooole
bag
of sand
saved
and
my hour glass
is gonna
flow
in my own time
at my own pace
nice and sweet
and slow!

So please
go diddle
someone
else'Â’s time
zone
if
you must
please move
on forward
to your end
enjoy your
pile of dust

IÂ’ve planned
a way to
spend my time
to make my
savings last
right now
my future looks
real sweet
as do
days
from my
past

Hi Kristina. This is a nifty dividend for readers! Seems there are never enough hours in a day, but always too many days before Saturday.

oh, dear, this is quite a rant, the line breaks are especially convincing in terms of the mood -- that staccato rhythm so effective ... those days I’ve saved- my schedule’s full and packed of re-days I plan to re-live, of paths I’ve mapped to track ---this tugs at my heart, truly.....a humorous and memorable read! LOL! Excellent comback to the changing of the clocks Kris. I've never read such a poem; refreshingly different.

Clever with the right voice and tone. During the work week, I feel cheated of natural light. And time is such a confusing concept.

Laughing, because it's a real pain in the butt changing all those clocks around. And I lost 2 hours of sleep because I woke up at 5:30 in the morning. sheesh... Good one, Kristina. I love it!
