Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 10/18/06 at 03:01 AM Terrific Chris. The "eyes" definitely have it! Really enjoyed this one. |
Posted by Kristina Woodhill on 10/18/06 at 01:56 PM A romantic, lovely focus on the wearing of glasses. You bring special feelings to ordinary events. Well done. |
Posted by Quentin S Clingerman on 10/19/06 at 01:33 AM Ahhh yes, most of us, if we live long enough, go the route of four eyes and then some! You convey the message with suave sophistication. |
Posted by Leslie Ann Eisenberg on 10/19/06 at 02:17 AM eyes two eyes, what a pair you make! clever read! PK |
Posted by David R Spellman on 10/19/06 at 04:40 PM At first I thought this was going to be some spider poem and then began to imagine having eight eyes. Next I thought about the often cruel comments made as children about those who wore glasses as "four eyes." What a pleasure it was to read it and "see" the perspective you've portrayed and built upon. Glad I did and had my own vision surprisingly corrected! |
Posted by Katerina T Nix on 10/21/06 at 11:43 AM Very sweet poem, Chris. I've never understood why some people are so scared of glasses. I think they make people look really cute... And obviously you gain the right to tell people that your IQ is about 25 points higher than it really is :). Lovely words, Chris. Two enthusiastic thumbs up! |
Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 11/16/06 at 02:39 AM Charmingly playful and insightful! I love the intriguing title, and then the eight line stanzas until the end has 7 plus-- a picture makes eight. I like the plays on numbers the 4's and the "bi" in bifoculs too. And I like the point of it all, put into visual perspective. Yay! |
Posted by Alisa Js on 12/18/06 at 09:42 PM what an absolutely adorable way to say, you love and accept her for who she is, every part...and not how she looks... love the humour mixed in as well.. aloha..;-) |
