TOPIC: all these pills

by Kyle Anne Kish

grab an antidepressent,
an aspirin or two
... no headaches for me,
they are far and few.

mix in bits of mood stabilizers
to keep me on track.
don't worry 'bout me,
my smile won't crack.

how ya like them apples?
there's a potassium pill too.
keep bananas at bay;
that crap tastes like glue.

pop me some hormones
... grabbing post-menopausal stress by the tail.
no hot flashes for me;
my systems won't fail.

don't forget the diuretics
or my one kidney might decline
to spit out excess calcium
... a very bad sign.

there's mother's little helper
for grandmas now too.
it's a true bit of spice --
walk out the door ... everything nice.

pills, pills;
the more we take
the better we feel,
so have your pills
with every meal!

Adds fresh meaning to "better living through chemistry." Well delivered K.A!

Oddly enough I remember being told as a child

"Don't be a Pill."

If only I'd not followed this advice. Gosh, I'd be able to take myself now!

lol..lol...;-)... how true...funny how in today's medical society there is a pill for every reason?...and how our children think of that as completely normal, along with instant gratification, sound bites for all our news and one hour solutions for everything....

I can't get the Dr to give me one that will put me under the blanket of 'ground'. Darn! And I take so many of them! Nice write!
