Love 101

by Chris Sorrenti

one never knows
when that next big bang will occur
how we all at some time
fall heels over head for another

dare say
even Einstein would be at a loss
to write out its formula on a blackboard
and yet occurring quite naturally each day
in some part of the world

a combination of biology and physics
with a good dose of something higher
call it fate mixed in
though chemistry seeming the key ingredient

two souls’ paths crossed
then merging as one
attraction in both its simplest
and most complex form
concrete in the occurrence
yet the result quite abstract
impossible to hold in one’s hand
unless of course holding one another’s

a fine capture of the mystery.

I like the way you take this from the logic of the mind to the emotion of the heart because it's quite true that mysterious love confounds even the most learned.

Hi Chris. Yes, the story of a love is important. Maybe equally important is that one is capable of love. It is perhaps the only glimpse we are permitted of eternity. Great write. Thanks.

This is a really good explanation for something that is totally un-understandable- LOVE! Great write!

I love the combination of science and mystery, abstract and concrete in this lesson. The last two lines takes the idea right to the connection. I like this a lot.

Beautifully put, Chris. I like the lines: "dare say / even Einstein would be at a loss / to write out its formula on a blackboard."

A refreshing look at the old. old theme! One which never really gets old though does it? One never seems to get too old to feel its power!

well, all manifestations are always at two levels. many a times with the change in the impressions the chemistery changes.

This whole piece is great, but I especially loved "impossible to hold in one’s hand unless of course holding one another’s "

Love is a wonder! Speaking as a romantic soul here, love is what keeps us alive...as to the exact ingredients for love, I think if you could ask the six billion plus on this planet, you would more than likely get six billion plus answers!..lol.. Love is what keeps this world spinning in my humble opinion. Thank you for stopping by and for your kind sentiment...Aloha to you and yours from this side of paradise..;-)
