caleb by Cassandra Leighhe spoke in tongues because
English sounded so wrong. A
self-proclaimed
self-righteous
Saved
[inside just a filthy homophobe]
and when we heard his voice he
was the only one finding meaning in the words
that were not so eloquent but
somehow held us rapt
because he knew they would.
and he was less than he thought but
more than he seemed
because we were just one of many
[but became less deadly between his hands].
We put this tigress in a skirt and he
waltzed her down the sidewalk in the rain. 09/10/2006 Posted on 09/11/2006 Copyright © 2024 Cassandra Leigh
