Don't Tell Me by Joan SerratelliYou tell me
what to be,
who to be,
but you never
tell me why
Don't you see
that I'm who I am
and no matter
how hard I try
I'll never be
any different
than who I am
right now
Don't tell me
what to do
or how to act
it'll just make me cry
And I've cried
enough tears
for any one person

Posted by Gregory O'Neill on 08/30/06 at 06:05 PM You know Joan, I used to think that being nice to people and feeling nice was loving people. Now I know it isn't. Love is the most immense unselfishness and it is so big I must actually question whether I've ever touched it. Go right on being the loving person you are and take pride in that. |

Posted by Tony Young on 09/03/06 at 09:08 AM Hi Joan, sweet and sour and sad, reads like an illness to me telling, pushing, pulling and not allowing one his/her freedom. If I'm wrong I apologise also and agree with Chris.......T |
Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 09/03/06 at 05:13 PM Something I'm sure we all feel, especially those in relationships, where a partner nags us to be different, despite being exactly who we are when first come together. Atply expressed Joan. |
