Marlene's Purse by Gregory R SchelskeMarlene's purse is rather small
but in her purse she keeps a ball,
a comb, a brush and that's not all-
she also has a table saw.
Near the bottom are some seeds,
a box of rocks and tumble weeds.
Once I even thought I saw
a glass of juice with a straw.
She keeps a book for her dates
and highway maps from sixty states,
a book or two and a chair,
and a fishnet for her hair.
In her purse are lots of things;
Old toothpicks and diamond rings-
a clock, a pan and still there's more-
in one pocket is a door.
She has a monkey just inside,
he won't come out - he likes to hide.
In a zipper on the back
is a piece of railroad track.
In the front just like I thought
is that old car she once bought.
An umbrella and fishing pole
are also there in a hole.
Marlene's purse is rather small,
I don't know where she keeps it all.
